We are kicking off black history month by introducing our new blog, “Spotlight,” where we discuss a new women or other-gendered role model in bioengineering every month. Representation is important! These women prove that their unique backgrounds lend strength to their personal developments and progress in bioengineering. Looking for more role models this month? The Global Women in STEM Leadership Summit will be held in Atlanta, GA this year from June 6-7. Women leaders will share their knowledge on how to succeed in their fields through speeches, chats, and workshops. Register here.

Intel Corporation is sponsoring a scholarship through Society of Women Engineers (SWE) ranging from $5,000-$10,000 for women pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in STEM. Apply here before the application deadline, Feb 15, 2022.

SWE will also be holding its annual conference in Houston, TX from Oct 20-22. Apply here by March 14, 2022 to give a talk, present a poster, or attend the conference and support women engineers and technologists.

Congratulations to UCSD Graduate Women in Computing (GradWIC) for being awarded the International Xilinx Women in Technology University Grant! Award funds will be used to increase participation of underrepresented minorities in computational fields by supporting GradWIC’s mentorship and outreach programs. See full article here.
